If you need to renew license your marine vessel license or driver’s license, you can do it quickly and easily using the following services.
Four weeks before your license expires, you will receive a notice reminding you that you must proceed with the renewal. Please note that the following procedures are available for all licenses that have expired in less than 6 months.
Renewal of license using the same picture.
The VicRoads will notify you if you need to take a new picture or not in the reminder notification. If you use the same picture and your personal information remains the same, you will be allowed to renew your license over the phone. Call 1300 554 853 and follow the instructions explained. After the procedure is complete, in about 10 days, you will receive your new License by regular mail. Please keep your receipt until the transaction is complete.

Licenses expired
If your license has expired for more than 5 years, you will need to take a Driver test to be able to obtain your license. If your license has expired for more than 6 months up to 5 years, you will need to contact the VicRoads Customer Service Center to schedule an appointment and bring a valid ID with your license application form.
